Welcome to JWH, LCSW PLLC, led by Jahmani W. Hylton, LCSW, a seasoned leader with over twenty years of experience driving impactful change in nonprofit and government sectors. With a proven track record in designing and implementing innovative programs, Jahmani is dedicated to empowering organizations to deliver equitable, person-centered solutions that improve outcomes for families, youth, and underserved communities.
Leadership Rooted in Experience
Jahmani’s career includes holding key leadership roles in some of New York City’s most influential agencies:
- Deputy Commissioner, New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS): Oversaw all family shelters citywide and introduced Social Workers in Shelters to enhance support for families.
- Director, Mayor’s Office NYC Young Men’s Initiative (YMI): Led a citywide portfolio addressing education, employment, health, and justice for Black and Latino young men.
- Executive Director, Youth Preventive Programs, New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS): Pioneered the rollout of Evidence-Based Practices and Family Team Conferencing to improve outcomes for families and youth.

Educator and Advocate
As a former Adjunct Lecturer at the Silberman School of Social Work, Jahmani shared his passion for community organizing and group work, equipping the next generation of social workers with the tools to create meaningful change. A proud graduate of Hunter College School of Social Work, Jahmani holds a concentration in Group Work with a minor in Community Organizing.
